Quiz Competition on Bhoti Language

Khaltse, DD, To commemorate Bhoti Language Day, the Cultural Committee organized an engaging quiz competition focused on the Bhoti language. The event aimed to promote and celebrate the rich linguistic and cultural heritage of the Bhoti-speaking community.


Students from all semesters participated, competing in four teams namely KA, KHA, GA, and NA) across three rounds. Team KA, comprising Rigzin Dolma (4th Sem) and Nema Lahmo (6th Sem) won the competition, earning a spot in the upcoming quiz competition at EJM college on Bhoti Language Day. The event was conducted by Assistant Professor Dr. Tsering Norphel, who guided the participants through a series of thought-provoking questions, testing their knowledge of the language and its cultural significance. The second session followed by competition under categories such as calligraphy and rTsoms recitation. Jigmet Dorjay of 2nd semester secured first position in calligraphy and Padma Angmo of 6th semester secured 1st position in rTsoms recitation competition. The multiple day-long events culminated with signaturing in Bhoti by the college faculty and staff members.


The quiz fostered enthusiasm and learning among students while reinforcing the importance of preserving the Bhoti language. The Cultural Committee expressed gratitude to all participants and encouraged continued efforts in promoting linguistic heritage.DD
