UDHAMPUR ,TDD,NOVEMBER 18, 2024: As part of the departmental activities,Department of Urdu, Government College for women (GCW) Udhampur organized an intra department Quiz Competition on the topic “Allama Iqbal Fiker-O-Fun” at College Campus here today.
The programme was conducted under the able guidance of Principal of the college Prof. (Dr.) Nalini Pathania.Earlier, in his welcome address Dr. Mool Raj, Head of the Department of Urdu gave a brief account regarding the event and highlighted the idea behind organizing such programmes is to encourage students to look beyond their textual knowledge and establish a relation between theory and application of what they have learned. He explained the Rules and regulations of the quiz Competition to the participating teams.
In this competition, four teams with 5 participants in each team gave a tough battle to each other. It was an interesting three-round competition, including objective questions with options round, buzzer round and rapid-fire round which engaged the students for two hours.
Although the teams participated actively, the team that scored the most was Team B comprised of Sakshi Thakur, Shabnam Akhter, Sakina Akhter, Asifa Bibi and Zaidya Begum. Team A and Team D Stood Second and Third respectively.
The students showcased their brilliance by rapidly answering the questions. Though some of the questions were very tricky, the teams tried to answer them with confidence. It was a very informative and knowledge enriching competition for the participants along with the
audience.
The proceedings of the event were conducted by Dr. Sareer Ahmad Bhat, faculty of the Department of Urdu. The competition concluded with the vote of thanks given by Dr. Mushtaq Ahmed, Department of Hindi.
Among others, Dr. Neha Gupta, Dr. Om Parkash, Prof. Meenakshi Jamwal, Prof. Mushtaq Ahmed, Dr. Sarbjeet Kour Sudan, Prof. Yash Kumar, other Teaching staff and a large number of students were also present on the occasion.TDD
