Jammu: The Mystic Songstress and Sufi Diva Ragini Rainu, the celebrated Sufi and bhakti singer of India, has been awarded the prestigious Sufi Gayan Parampara Ratna – National Cultural Excellence Award 2025 by the Global India Business Forum (GIBF).
The award function was held at Constitutional Club, New Delhi in the presence of various global leaders, diplomats, entrepreneurs and eminent citizens of the country. The award was presented by Dr. Jitendra Joshi, founder and global president GIBF, Deepali Gadkari, Secretary General GIBF and Ambassadors and Diplomats from various countries like Belarus, Benin, Chad, Colombia, Comoros, Costa Rica, Ethiopia, Guyana, Nepal, Niger, Congo, Russia, Suriname, Tuvalu, Uruguay, etc. Ragini dedicated her award to her Guru Pt. Bhajan Sopori ji.
Ragini has previously been honoured with awards like Dr. Sarojini Naidu International Award, SaMaPa Yuva Ratan Samman, Dogri Award, Sur Shree Award, Global Punjabi Society Award, etc. She stands as a representative of the Sopori – Sufiana Gharana of Kashmir and has her training under the tutelage of the Great Saint Music Legend Pandit Bhajan Sopori ji, who crafted her singing blending classical gayaki with tayari and bhava, infusing her performances with unparalleled depth and emotions. Renowned for her effortless singing and mastery over structured Sufi ang, as well as the Ghazal and poetic Kafi genres, Ragini is equally at ease with the traditional genres as with the modern nuances and expressions captivating audiences worldwide.
With her individualistic style and a rich repertoire of compositions from her guru Pt. Bhajan Sopori, she is the rightful heir to the legacy of Bhakti and Sufi music of India.DD
