Akhilesh Yadav says first battle of new Govt to be for Statehood restoration

Srinagar, (TDD): Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha and senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will attend the swearing-in ceremony of National Conference vice-president Omar Abdullah as chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir in Srinagar today.
An official communique of Congress confirmed that Rahul Gandhi will attend the oath taking ceremony at Srinagar’s Sher-e-Kashmir International Convention Centre today.
Several INDIA bloc leaders including Smajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav have already arrived in Srinagar to attend the oath-taking ceremony tomorrow
Omar Abdullah will take oath as first chief minister of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir tomorrow along with eight ministers of his cabinet. The ceremony will take place at the SKICC at 11:30 am where Lt Governor Manoj Sinha will administer the oath of office and secrecy to chief minister and his council of ministers. . Meanwhile, Akhilesh Yadav is also set to attend oath ceremony in Srinagar. Talking to reporters, he congratulated the people of Kashmir for choosing a secular government. He said the first step after government formation will be to get back the Statehood for J&K. Yadav said the upcoming government in J&K will have so many challenges and it should work unitedly for the rights of people. (TDD)
