Railway Introduces Battery-Powered Car Service for Pilgrims at Katra Station

The Diplomat Desk

Katra: TDD,In a move aimed at enhancing passenger convenience, the railway administration has launched a new battery-powered car service within the station premises. This service is specifically designed to alleviate the burden of pilgrims traveling to Vaishno Devi, who often face the challenge of carrying luggage over long distances.

The battery-powered cars will transport pilgrims from the platform to the parking area and vice versa at a very affordable rate. In the initial phase, five battery-powered cars are operational, offering rides for a mere Rs. 50 per passenger or a full battery car booking for Rs. 250

It is worth noting that pilgrims undertaking the Vaishno Devi pilgrimage must cover a distance of 12 kilometers on foot, which can be quite tiring. Upon arriving at Katra station, carrying luggage to the parking area becomes a significant challenge. In response to this issue, the railway administration has introduced this battery-powered car service to provide much-needed relief to the pilgrims.TDD
