Jammu,TDD,In a move to cater to the expected surge in rail passengers during the upcoming Diwali festivities, Indian Railways has announced the operation of several special trains. These trains will connect key destinations across the country, including religious sites like Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra in Jammu and Kashmir.
To facilitate the travel of devotees during the auspicious period, two special trains have been dedicated to the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra route. The Jammu Tawi-Howrah Puja Special will operate four trips, connecting two of India’s major cities. Similarly, the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra-Kamakhya Puja Special will run four trips, catering to pilgrims from the northeastern region.
Jammu Tawi-Howrah Puja Special: This train will depart from Jammu Tawi at 8:20 PM on October 30th and 4th November, reaching Howrah at 1:20 PM the following day. In the return direction, the train will leave Howrah at 11:45 PM on November 1st and 6th November, arriving at Jammu Tawi at 3:20 PM.
Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra-Kamakhya Puja Special: This train will depart from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra at 6:40 PM on October 28th and 2nd November, reaching Kamakhya at 9:55 PM the following day. The return journey will commence from Kamakhya at 6:00 AM on October 31st and 5th November, arriving at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra at 6:20 AM.
By introducing these special trains, Indian Railways is not only meeting the increased demand for rail travel during Diwali but also ensuring that devotees can reach their destinations safely and comfortably.TDD
