New Delhi, (DD): Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Wednesday issued a strong statement following the brutal terrorist attack in Pahalgam that left 26 civilians dead, assuring the nation that those responsible will face a decisive and forceful response.
Calling the attack “a cowardly act aimed at sowing communal division,” Singh said the government is fully committed to bringing both the attackers and their handlers to justice.
“Terrorists targeted innocent people based on their religion. It was a shameful and inhumane act,” Singh said. “Let me assure the people of India — the government will not rest until every person involved, directly or indirectly, is held accountable. A loud and clear message will be delivered to those behind this violence.”
He also extended his condolences to the bereaved families and reaffirmed India’s zero-tolerance policy on terrorism.
“We are heartbroken. This is not just a regional tragedy; it’s a national wound. Our resolve against terrorism is absolute. Every necessary measure will be taken to eliminate this threat from our soil,” he added(DD)
