Ramban Police Attach Property of Absconding terrorist in Banihal

Action taken under Section 83 CrPC as part of intensified anti-terror crackdown

Ramban, (DD)In a significant development in the ongoing crackdown on terrorism, Ramban Police have attached immovable property under Section 83 of the CrPC within the jurisdiction of Police Station Banihal, District Ramban.

The property, comprising agricultural land measuring 1 Kanal and 1 Marla, is registered in the name of a Pakistan-settled terrorist, Mohd Saleem, son of Abdual Hani Tantray, a resident of Takia Tethar, Tehsil Banihal, District Ramban. Saleem has been declared a proclaimed offender in connection with FIR No. 101/1992 registered under Sections 436 RPC and 3/4 TADA at Police Station Banihal. He remains absconding following the commission of the offence, allegedly with the intent to evade legal proceedings.

The Hon’ble Court had earlier ordered the attachment of Saleem’s property. The land parcels attached are detailed as follows:

  1. Land measuring 5 Marla, Khasra No. 1156
  2. Land measuring 1 Marla, Khasra No. 1161
  3. Land measuring 9 Marla, Khasra No. 1200
  4. Land measuring 5 Marla, Khasra No. 1425
  5. Land measuring 1 Marla, Khasra No. 1435

All plots are located in Village Tethar, Tehsil Banihal, District Ramban. The attachment was carried out in the presence of a police team and an Executive Magistrate, in strict adherence to legal protocols.

This action marks a significant milestone in the ongoing investigation into unlawful and subversive activities in the region. It underscores Ramban Police’s commitment to safeguarding national security and upholding law and order.
