Kishtwar, DD: The Kishtwar Campus celebrated the 76th Republic Day of India with grandeur, patriotism, and cultural pride. The event commenced with the ceremonial unfurling of the national flag by the Director of Kishtwar Campus, Prof Jasbir Singh in the presence of faculty, staff, students, and local dignitaries.
Following the flag hoisting and the singing of the National Anthem, the Director delivered an inspiring address, in his emphasizing the importance of Republic Day and the role of education in strengthening the nation.
Moreover, in his address the Director Kishtwar Campus, informed that Prof. Umaish Roy, Vice Chancellor University of Jammu has the special concern for the development of the campus. He has instructed to develop the campus as a hub of local cultural, literary and academic activities in accordance with NEP 2020.
To promote the spirit of nation integration a Mushaira was organized in multiple languages of the Chenab Valley, including Kashmiri, Urdu, and Kishtwari. Renowned and budding poets from the region Mr Altaf Kishtwari, Mr Mushtaq Kishtwari, Shri OM ji recited verses that celebrated patriotism, cultural unity, and the essence of India’s diversity. The Mushaira provided a platform to showcase the linguistic richness of the Chenab Valley and left the audience captivated. On this occasion student from different streams recited poems.
The special attraction of the event was the heartfelt recitation of a poem by the Director of Kishtwar Campus Prof. Jasbir Singh. The poem, dedicated to the spirit of the Republic and the cultural heritage of the region, resonated deeply with the attendees and was met with thunderous applause.
The celebrations concluded with vote of thanks presented by Dr. Tufail Habib and refreshment for all attendees, leaving a lasting impression of unity, cultural pride, and patriotic fervor. The Republic Day celebrations at Kishtwar Campus reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to nurturing responsible citizens and preserving the cultural heritage of the region.
