Diplomat Correspondent

Leh: As part of the ongoing Road Safety Month, the Transport Department, Leh, in coordination with Leh Police, conducted a special night enforcement drive today to curb incidents of drunk driving and promote road safety awareness.

During the drive, vehicles were checked at multiple locations, and strict action was taken against violators found driving under the influence of alcohol, in accordance with the provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act. Breath analyzer tests were conducted, and challans were issued wherever violations were detected.

The objective of the drive was to ensure public safety, prevent road accidents, and spread awareness about the serious risks associated with drunk driving.

The drivers were also sensitized about responsible driving and the importance of following traffic rules for the safety of all road users.

The Transport Department and Leh Police have reiterated that such enforcement drives will continue throughout the Road Safety Month and thereafter, and have appealed to the public to cooperate with authorities and strictly adhere to traffic regulations.DD
