Kishtwar, February 22, DD: Roopesh Sharma, a newly promoted Block Development Officer (BDO), assumed his duties as BDO (Pyt) in the ACP Office Kishtwar. The joining ceremony took place in the presence of officers and officials from the Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Department and the DC Office Complex Kishtwar.
Roopesh Sharma has dedicated over 24 years of service to the Rural Development Department, initially as a Village Level Worker (VLW). In June 2024, he was promoted to Inspector Panchayat and posted in Block Trigam. Over the years, he has served in various key positions, including PA to Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar and In-charge of the Judicial Section in the DC Office Kishtwar, leveraging his law background. He holds a B.Sc in Medical Science, an LL.B (Professional) from the University of Jammu, and a post-graduate degree in Rural Development from IGNOU.
Initially appointed as Look After BDO in Block Marwah, his posting was later modified, and he was deployed as Look After BDO (Pyt) in the ACP Office Kishtwar. A warm welcome was extended to him by officers and officials from the DC Office, ACD Office, and ACP Office, with bouquets presented in honor of his new role.
Speaking at the occasion, Yasir Rashid, Secretary Panchayat, highlighted Roopesh Sharma’s distinguished service and expressed confidence that he will continue to contribute effectively to rural development schemes at the grassroots level.
In his address, Roopesh Sharma expressed gratitude for the warm reception and reaffirmed his commitment to his new responsibilities.
