JAMMU, DD: National Conference Additional General Secretary and former Minister, Ajay Kumar Sadhotra, today came down heavily on the Leader of Opposition, Sunil Sharma, for lowest
political depth and insensitivity by maliciously accusing Chief Minister

Omar Abdullah of not showing concern for flood-ravaged Jammu. Sadhotra visited flood affected areas of Badyal Brahmana in R.S. Pura.
“It was because of the Chief Minister’s personal supervision and consistent engagement that the administration was fully geared up, which significantly minimized the sufferings of the affected population across the Jammu region”, Sadhotra said while interacting with
people of Badyal Brahmana. Sadhotra said that Sharma’s unfounded allegations are nothing
but a diversionary tactic by the Bharatiya Janata Party to cover up its own failures. He noted that despite the catastrophic damages caused
by torrential rains, the Chief Minister’s quick response, regular reviews, and outreach to ground-zero areas ensured that rescue, relief and
restoration work was carried out in a timely manner.
Taking strong exception to the BJP’s insensitivity, Sadhotra said the Union Home Minister’s just concluded visit has ended up in nothing but
disappointment for the people of Jammu.“The announcement of just Rs 209 Crore as relief is not only inadequate but an insult to the sufferings of rain-hit Jammu. This paltry sum has dismayed Jammuites, especially when seen against the massive damages and colossal loss caused by incessant rains and floods,” he said.

Sadhotra said that the people of Jammu had reposed their faith in the BJP by giving it a massive mandate in the 2024 Lok Sabha and Legislative Assembly elections, but the outcome of Amit Shah’s visit has been nothing short of betrayal.
“The people expected a substantial relief package, but instead they have been handed over mere peanuts. This indifference has deeply hurt
public sentiments,” he added.
Sadhotra also talked to senior officials, including the Principal Secretary PDD urging for ensuring regulated power supply, the Chief
Engineer R&B urging for immediate restoration of damaged roads especially road, which leads to Cremation ground Badyal Brahmana and
the Chief Engineer Flood Control urging for preventive measures on a war footing in view of, still it is raining.

He had a detailed conversation with the SDM South urging the final assessment of agricultural land and
crop damages of Badyal Brahmna which is in revenue record is area of Tehsil Mandal-Phallain, urging that compensation be expedited for the
affected families.
While lauding the Chief Minister’s tireless efforts, Sadhotra said Omar Abdullah has shown remarkable leadership in meeting the challenges posed by torrential rains.“The CM’s presence in affected areas, interactions with sufferers, and
continuous monitoring of relief and restoration works demonstrate his deep concern for the people of Jammu and Kashmir,” he observed.
Extending solidarity of the National Conference with the affected people, Sadhotra assured that the party will continue to be at the forefront in highlighting their concerns and pressing the government for adequate relief, rehabilitation, and long-term preventive measures.
Prominent among those accompanying Sadhotra during his visit to rain-hit areas included Naresh Bittu, Chander Mohan Sharma, Raghubir
Singh Manhas District Presidents, Veer Ji Bhat, Bishan Singh Block President, Jatinder Chowdhary, Amit Kumar, Manmohan Organizer, Jatinder Singh Lucky, Ashwani Charak, Gurnam Singh Block Presidents, Karamjeet Singh, Akshay Kumar, Rakesh Kumar, Narinder Singh Jamwal,
