Nagrota,DD:Sainik School Nagrota marked Navy Day 2025 with a week-long series of vibrant activities celebrating the courage, professionalism, and maritime heritage of the Indian Navy.
The celebrations began on 30 November with a spirited Cycling Trek to Katal Batal led by the Principal, Officers, staff, and Girl Cadets.
This was followed by an Inter-House Naval Quiz for Junior Cadets, a Special Assembly on India’s maritime history, and a high-energy Basketball Match themed on Operation Trident, commemorating the iconic 1971 Naval Strike.
On 04 December, Navy Day was observed with a solemn Wreath Laying Ceremony at the Shourya Smarak to honour fallen heroes.
The event featured an impressive Hornpipe Dance by Girl Cadets and a captivating Band Display, highlighting precision, coordination, and martial rhythm.
As part of a major green initiative, the school conducted a large-scale Swastik Model Plantation Drive, planting 5000 saplings across the campus to promote ecological balance and environmental responsibility.
Addressing the gathering, Captain (IN) Shibu Devasia, Principal, urged Cadets to explore careers in the Indian Navy and underscored the Navy’s vital role in safeguarding national maritime interests.
A Bada Khana at the Cadets’ Mess and a traditional Cake Cutting ceremony marked the conclusion of the celebrations.
The week-long events highlighted the school’s commitment to discipline, service, and patriotic values while paying tribute to the enduring legacy of the Indian Navy.
