Discusses Key Parliamentary, Political & Developmental Issues

Jammu: Member Parliament Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo today met Party President Dr Farooq Abdullah and apprised him of the proceedings of the recent Rajya Sabha Winter Session, including the key issues raised by JKNC Members of Parliament during the session.
During the meeting, Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo briefed the Party President about the prevailing political and developmental situation in Jammu province, with particular emphasis on the Chenab Valley region.
He highlighted the ground situation, developmental challenges and the urgent need for focused attention towards remote and hilly areas.
Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo also informed Dr. Farooq Abdullah about the unfortunate fire incident that occurred last night in village Thachna, Dachhan, wherein several residential houses were completely gutted and a number of shops were damaged, resulting in huge financial losses to the affected families.
He emphasized the need for immediate relief, rehabilitation and adequate compensation for those affected.
Dr. Farooq Abdullah appreciated the proactive and effective manner in which JKNC Members of Parliament raised crucial issues in Parliament, particularly concerning the prisoners’ issue, the restoration of statehood and special status of Jammu & Kashmir and various development-related matters.
He lauded the consistent parliamentary interventions made in defence of the rights and aspirations of the people of J&K.
Former Minister and former Member of Parliament Mohammad Shafi Uri was also present during the meeting.
The Party President assured that the concerns raised, especially those related to Chenab Valley and the fire-affected families of Dachhan, would be pursued at appropriate forums to ensure justice, relief and sustained development.DD
