Kargil, DD, Sankoo Campus of the Government Degree College, Kargil solemnly observed the Samvidhan Hatya Diwas (Constitution Betrayal Day) on 25th June 2025 at the Skill Centre of the campus.
The event was aimed to raise awareness among students and faculty about the significance of constitutional values and the importance of safeguarding democratic principles. The observance marked the anniversary of the Emergency imposed in India on 25th June 1975, a period widely regarded as a dark chapter in Indian democratic history.
Faculty members addressed the gathering, shedding light on the historical context, implications, and lessons from the Emergency era. Students actively participated in discussions, expressing their views on constitutional rights, democratic responsibilities, and the need for vigilance in preserving the sanctity of the Indian Constitution.
The program concluded with a collective reaffirmation of commitment to uphold the constitutional ethos and democratic values enshrined in the Preamble of the Indian Constitution.DD
