SDM Khaltse visits Lingshed and Fotoksar Gonpas to Reviews Preparations for Upcoming Visit of His Holiness Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang Rinpoche

Khaltse, DD, Following the directions of the Hon’ble Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC-Leh, Adv. Tashi Gyalson, the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Khaltse, Mohd Sharif, conducted an inspection of Lingshed and Fotoksar Gonpas, to review the ongoing preparations for the upcoming visit of His Holiness the 73rd “Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang Rinpoche” scheduled from 7-10 May 2025.

During the inspection, SDM Khaltse visited the Lingshed Photang—the designated venue for His Holiness’s teachings—and reviewed crucial arrangements, including VIP and public parking, public convenience facilities, and waste management systems. Detailed on-site discussions were held to assess essential services such as road connectivity, drinking water supply, electricity, traffic regulation, medical assistance, seating arrangements, installation of the Public Address System (PAS), and overall sanitation measures.

The SDM directed all concerned department officers and officials to ensure that all preparations, especially those related to essential services and road connectivity, are completed well in advance of the event. The team also assessed the conditions of the road from both Nimoo Padum Darsha (NPD) and Lingshed Fotoksar Niraks (LPN) in (Singaylalok).

SDM Khaltse was accompanied during the inspection by Naib Tehsildar Wanla, Phuntsog Namgial; Executive Engineer R&B Khaltse, Thinles Zangpo; Block Development Officer (BDO) Khaltse, Pankaj Rajput; AEE R&B Khaltse, Anwar Khan; AEE PDD, Toldan; AEE PHE, Phurboo Sandup; AEE I&FC, Mohd Abdullah; Sub-Inspector Skarma Angchok from Police Station Khaltse; Medical Officer Dr. Irfan-ul-Haq Wani; Lingshed Gonpa authority Gen. Stanzin Norbo; Namberdar Lingshed, Nawang Stanzin; Junior Engineer Technical, Deldan Namgial; Junior Engineer PHE, Jigmat Chotak; and members from Lingshed village.

On the sidelines of the visit, the SDM directed the officers accompany with him to assess the damages in terms of Road, Electric poles, irrigation Kohl and structures due to recent snow fall on 19-20th April 2025. The assessment team visited at the damages sites to take stock of it . A comprehensive report shall submit by each department at Khaltsi Hqtr. to submit further to the Deputy commissioner’s Office Leh for release of Relief.

Accordingly, necessary instructions were also passed to the R&B Division regarding resuming the executional work on Dipling road within the specified time frame.DD
