Search Operation Undertaken in Reasi After Suspect Movement As Security Threat Concerns Intensify

Arun Jasrotia

Reasi,DD, Troops launched a massive search operation throughout the vast forests of Jammu and Kashmir’s Reasi district, officials confirmed earlier today. The preemptive action was taken following intelligence reports of suspicious activity in the dense cover, resulting in a rapid and coordinated deployment of several security units. The operation, which started early this morning, involves officers carefully searching the hilly terrain in an attempt to find and eliminate any possible threats to the security of the area.

This news comes shortly after a ghastly incident in the adjoining Kathua district, where three police officers valiantly sacrificed their lives and two others were injured in an intense gun battle with terrorists on Thursday.

The Kathua encounter, which came on the fourth day of an ongoing massive anti-terror operation, also saw two terrorists killed.

The operation in Reasi is being seen as a significant measure in taking proactive measures against possible threats and providing security and safety to the local populace following the Kathua incident. The authorities have not made public any specific information about the nature of the suspicious movement that was reported in Reasi, but the magnitude of the operation suggests the seriousness with which the intelligence is being handled.
Further updates are expected as the search operation progresses.DD
