Hiranagar: DD, The security forces have recovered magazines and other material from the site where the “infiltrated” terrorist group had opened fire on the defence forces along the International Border in Sanyal village of Hiranagar in Kathua.
Although the officials were right lipped, the sources have told Diplomat Digital that the terrorists exchanged fire with the security forces, when their presence in the village was detected.
The firing continued for some time, but later the guns fell silent, they added.
In the morning, the security forces continued their joint and coordinated search operation in the Sanyal area and all the entry and exit points were also blocked by the forces.
As the operation proceeded, the sources said that the NSG team and the use of drones were also pressed into service to locate the hiding terrorists.
However, as the forces zeroed in the location, the sources said that the security forces recovered some magazines (apparently M4), and their material.
Till the filing of this report, the intense operation was in progress. The fresh report will be uploaded as and when it is received.
Meanwhile, a high alert has been sounded all along the International Border and security has been heightened.DD
