Exams from class 1 to class 9 should conclude by Dec 15, new classwork must start from Dec 20, Says Director SED Tasaduk Hussain

Srinagar, (TDD),In yet another significant move, Director School Education Kashmir Dr Tasaduk Hussain today said that the School Education department was mulling a uniform exam schedule proposal that calls for conducting exams from Class 1 to Class 9 from November 15 onwards in winter zones of Kashmir.
Talking to reporters here, Tasaduk said that the proposal is to ensure exams are held from November 15 and completed by December 15.
“Parents and children need not to worry as these are school based exams. Teachers know how much syllabus they have completed. My information is that all schools have completed almost 90 percent syllabus, ” he said.
The Director School Education said that by December 20 , they will issue notifications for new classes which means students will join new classes.
The move comes close on the heels of J&K government’s decision of restoring the November-December exam schedule. Chief Minister Omar Abdullah yesterday informed the House that earlier decision of March academic session was taken without consulting parents and children. He thanked Education Minister Sakina Itoo for coming up with a proposal in the cabinet regarding reverting back to previous academic session of November-December in the winter zones of Kashmir and Jammu regions(TDD)
