Self-Defence training for girls culminates at PG College Rajouri

DC underscores cyber safety; sponsorship extended to 9 underprivileged girls

RAJOURI, DD: The five-day Self-Defence Training Programme for Girls organised under the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) scheme and aligned with the SEVA PARV and Sashakt Nari Surakshit Parivar campaign concluded today at PG College Rajouri with a grand valedictory function.

Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Sharma- the Chief Guest gave away certificates and medals to 75 girl students and their master trainers from the Police Department in recognition of their active participation and contribution.

Addressing the gathering, the Deputy Commissioner lauded the coordinated efforts of the Social Welfare, Police and Health Departments for successfully organising the training programme. He urged the participants to remain vigilant in the digital space and exercise caution while using social media, emphasising the importance of safeguarding themselves from cybercrimes. The DC further announced that the District Administration would soon roll out dedicated awareness sessions on cyber safety under the BBBP initiative.

Sanction letters for financial assistance of ₹10,000 each were handed over to nine underprivileged and orphan girls whose cases were duly verified and approved for the same.

The programme concluded with a plantation drive on the College Campus and organised under the theme “Beti Bachao Beti Padhao & Save Environment”.

The event was also attended by the College Principal, Additional SP, District Social Welfare Officer, Tehsil Social Welfare Officer and other district and sectoral officers.

Health Department, Army hold health check-up camp at Village Kota under Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Campaign

GANDOH, SEPTEMBER 21: As part of the ongoing Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar and Sewa Parv campaign, the Health Department, in collaboration with the Army organized a comprehensive health check-up camp at Village Kota in Medical Block Gandoh.

The initiative aimed to strengthen community health, empower women and promote family well-being through accessible healthcare services.

The camp was organized under the guidance of Chief Medical Officer Dr. Om Kumar and the supervision of Block Medical Officer Dr. Farooq Saleem. A dedicated team comprising Dr. Kamran John (MO RBSK), Dr. Kanchan (MLHP) and Masooda Begum (FMPHW) worked tirelessly to ensure the success of the program.

More than 300 local residents were screened for various health conditions and provided free medicines. In addition to medical consultations, participants were imparted vital health education and awareness on hygiene, preventive care, and the importance of adopting a healthy lifestyle.

The Health Department expressed gratitude to the Indian Army for their collaboration and to the local community for their active participation, which made the camp a meaningful contribution to both Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar and the spirit of Sewa Parv Celebration.DD
