Shah Announces Special Package for LoC Shelling Victims, Rules Out Talks with Pakistan

Diplomat Correspondent

Poonch,(DD) In a strong message from the border district of Poonch, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday announced a special relief package for victims of recent Pakistani shelling, while reiterating that India will not engage in talks with Pakistan until it ends its support for terrorism.

Speaking at a public event, Shah handed over government job appointment letters to family members of civilians killed in the shelling and assured the affected communities of continued support from both the Centre and the Jammu and Kashmir administration.

Key Announcements:

Expansion of Civilian Bunkers:
Shah revealed that over 90,000 underground bunkers have already been built along the LoC, and more will be constructed to ensure the safety of border residents.

Solidarity with Victims:
“No compensation can replace the loss of a loved one,” Shah said, “but this initiative reflects the unwavering solidarity of the people of India with those living under the shadow of constant threat.”

Operation Sindoor & Military Retaliation:
Shah disclosed that the Indian Army recently carried out Operation Sindoor, targeting terrorist infrastructure across the border. He claimed that Pakistan retaliated by shelling civilian areas and religious sites in Jammu and Kashmir.
In response, the Indian forces destroyed nine airbases in Pakistan, prompting Islamabad to request a ceasefire.

Clear Stance on Pakistan:
The Home Minister firmly ruled out the possibility of any talks with Pakistan until it completely dismantles its terror networks.
“Terror and trade cannot go together. Blood and water cannot flow together. This is India’s clear policy,” he declared.

Swift Local Response:
Shah commended the Lieutenant Governor and local administration for their prompt efforts in evacuating residents from affected areas and delivering necessary aid.

Development Will Continue:
Reaffirming the government’s commitment, Shah said development in Jammu and Kashmir would continue uninterrupted, and security forces would persist in eliminating terrorism.
“Kashmir will keep progressing while our forces continue their operations,” he added.

The visit comes amid heightened tensions along the LoC, but the Home Minister’s statements reflected both a firm security posture and a humanitarian approach to supporting affected communities(DD)
