Jammu, (TDD): The State Investigation Agency (SIA), Jammu, has filed a chargesheet against key operatives behind the “Kashmir Fight” social media platform, which was used by the proscribed terrorist organization The Resistance Front (TRF) to issue threats against migrant Kashmiri Pandit employees, aiming to create fear and disrupt peace.
The threats, which emerged in February 2024, prompted a swift response from the SIA. During the investigation, Farhaan Muzaffar Mattoo, a Srinagar resident, was arrested for allegedly gathering and sharing sensitive information about the targeted employees. The probe revealed that Mattoo acted as a conduit, passing critical data via encrypted platforms to handlers in Pakistan, who then issued the threats through the “Kashmir Fight” platform.
The chargesheet also names Sheikh Sajjad Ahmad, alias Sajjad Gul, a Srinagar native currently operating from Pakistan, as the mastermind behind the campaign. Ahmad is accused of orchestrating the intimidation of migrant employees and stoking communal tensions in the area.
The filing of the chargesheet highlights the determination of Jammu and Kashmir Police to protect its citizens and maintain peace. The chargesheet was presented today before the Hon’ble 3rd Additional Sessions Judge, Jammu. (TDD)
