Leh, DD, In a significant step towards promoting employment and self-reliance among Minorities and Scheduled Tribe communities in the Union Territory of Ladakh, the Sindhu Infrastructure Development Corporation (SIDCO), Leh, conducted its first Project Implementation Committee (PIC) meeting under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner, Leh Santosh Sukhadeve.
The meeting was attended by the member of Committee including Sonam Norbo, Senior Manager, SIDCO; A.G. Zargar, General Manager, DIC Leh; Delex Namgyal, Deputy Director, Employment Leh; Tsering Wangmo, Lead Bank Officer, Leh; Inzar Ahmed Rana, ARTO Leh and Stanzen Paksang, District Manager, SIDCO Leh.
During the meeting, the Committee unanimously recommended 25 out of 65 applicants for loan sanction under the National Minorities Development & Finance Corporation (NMDFC) and the National Scheduled Tribes Finance & Development Corporation (NSTFDC) schemes aimed at fostering employment generation in the region.
Additionally, the Committee decided to clear all pending loan cases registered under the erstwhile J&K Government. With the resolution of these cases, SIDCO will officially begin sanctioning loan schemes in both Leh and Kargil districts.
