11 member team to be headed by SP Wajahat Hussain, to submit weekly progress reports to DPO Rajouri

Jammu, (DD):Amid growing concerns over a series of mysterious deaths in Budhal, Rajouri, since December last year, the Rajouri Police have formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to uncover the cause.
The team, will be led by SP Wajahat Hussain and comprises ten members, including forensic experts, health professionals, pathologists, and agriculture experts, reflecting the multidimensional approach being taken to solve the case.
The SIT will submit weekly progress reports to the District Police Office (DPO) Rajouri, ensuring consistent monitoring and updates on the investigation.
So far, over a dozen unexplained fatalities have left the community alarmed. Authorities are focusing on various possibilities, including environmental, agricultural, and medical factors, to determine if the deaths are linked to contamination, disease, or other causes.
“We are committed to uncovering the truth and addressing public concerns. This comprehensive team will explore all angles, including forensic and environmental assessments,” a senior police officer told DD.
Local residents have urged the administration to expedite the probe as fear spreads in the area. “The uncertainty is unbearable. We need answers and protection for our families,” said a resident of Budhal.
The SIT is expected to present its findings in stages, with weekly updates offering transparency and hope for clarity in this troubling situation.(DD)
