Six die, three injured in fire incident in Kathua

KATHUA: TDD,Six persons died and three others injured, when the house of a retired DySP, mysteriously caught fire in Kathua District’s Shiva Nagar area.
“The house engulfed into flames due to a mysterious fire when eight members, including women and children were sleeping inside, ” claimed an eyewitness. The cause of death is believed to be suffocation.
The house belongs to a retired DySP of Jammu and Kashmir Police.
As soon as the fire broke out, the neighbours came out to rescue the trapped family members whereas the police and fire and emergency department also rushed their fire tenders to the spot.
The eyewitness said that a local rushes inside the house to save the lives, but he too sustained injuries. The bodies of six persons were retrieved and shifted to the mortuary room of the nearby hospital.
All four injured were evacuated to the GMC Kathua. Police have launched an investigation into the incident.TDD
