08 habitual offenders indulging in bovine smuggling detained under PSA in Jammu District during the year-2024
Jammu, TDD,In a determined effort to dismantle the bovine smuggling network, Jammu Police has achieved significant success under Operation Kamdhenu during 2024. Demonstrating its steadfast commitment to upholding public sentiments and enforcing animal protection laws, Jammu District recorded remarkable achievements:
•378 FIRs registered against bovine smugglers.
•3408 bovines rescued from illegal transportation.
•354 vehicles seized for their involvement in smuggling operations.
•408 accused arrested for participating in illegal activities.
•08 chronic smugglers detained under PSA in bovine smuggling.
Additionally, Jammu Police has opened history sheets and personal files for notorious smugglers and initiated the cancellation of Registration Certificates, Route Permits, and Licenses of vehicles repeatedly involved in bovine smuggling. A comprehensive database of offenders has also been created to strengthen future enforcement measures.
