Snowfall Prompts Travel Restrictions on Sinthan, Margan Top Roads: Authorites Issues Advisory

Diplomat Correspondent

Srinagar:DD, In view of the ongoing snowfall across upper reaches of Kokernag, the administration has released a weather advisory to regulate movement on routes leading to Sinthan Top and Margan Top.

The SDM office has cautioned that the current weather conditions pose threats of shooting stones, landslides, slippery surfaces, and reduced visibility, increasing the chances of accidents.

As per the advisory issued by SDM Kokernag, movement towards Sinthan Top and Margan Top from the Daksum and Gawran sides will depend on road clearance and safety assessment by the concerned departments.

All vehicle operators have been directed to ensure safety measures, including the use of snow skid chains. Travellers, visitors, and locals have been urged to stay updated with weather bulletins and follow administrative directions strictly.

The administration has further discouraged heavy vehicle movement and non-essential travel until conditions become favourable.

To assist the public, phone numbers of responsible officials from PMGSY, NHIDCL, Police, and SDM Office have been issued for road status updates and emergencies. (KNC)
