Srinagar, (DD) Srinagar International Airport is set for a remarkable cultural and infrastructural makeover designed to celebrate and reflect the rich heritage of Kashmir. This initiative will blend state-of-the-art facilities with traditional Kashmiri design elements, turning the airport into more than just a transit point—into a cultural gateway.
An airport spokesperson said the redevelopment aims to “reimagine Srinagar Airport to reflect the soul of Kashmir,” emphasizing the integration of modern conveniences with timeless local artistry. The upgraded terminal will feature indigenous materials, Kashmiri architectural motifs, intricate woodwork, and handcrafted artworks, offering travelers a deeply immersive experience from the moment they arrive.
