Srinagar, Apr 16 (DD): A 44-year-old man from the Dalgate area of Srinagar allegedly died due to medical negligence at the Chest Disease (CD) Hospital, prompting authorities to launch an investigation into the matter.According to the bereaved family, Rafiq Ahmad complained of chest pain on Wednesday morning and visited CD Hospital for a check-up. They allege that the attending doctor failed to provide proper treatment and behaved inappropriately when they requested further medical attention.”The doctor not only refused to treat him adequately but also misbehaved with us. Shockingly, he fled from the ward following Rafiq’s death,” claimed a family member. The family has demanded a thorough probe and strict action against the concerned doctor, urging higher authorities to prevent such incidents in the future.Meanwhile, an official from CD Hospital confirmed that an internal investigation has been initiated. “The matter is being looked into, and if any negligence is found, strict action will be taken,” the official stated.(DD)
