Srinagar,(DD): In a significant move to crack down on narcotics trafficking, Srinagar Police has attached immovable property valued at approximately Rs 50 lakh belonging to a notorious drug peddler, Bilal Ahmad Wani, son of Gh. Ahmad Wani, a resident of Sirgufwara, Anantnag.
The action was taken under Sections 68-E and 68-F of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, following investigations linked to FIR No. 05/2025 registered at Police Station Shaheed Gunj under Sections 8/20 and 29 NDPS Act.
The seized property includes a two-storeyed residential house and land, which police have established as being purchased through proceeds of illicit drug trafficking. Authorities have confirmed that the property cannot be sold, transferred, or otherwise dealt with without prior approval from the competent authority.
The accused, with a known history of drug peddling, was actively involved in distributing narcotics, especially targeting local youth—posing a grave threat to public health and safety.
This action is part of Jammu and Kashmir Police’s broader effort to dismantle drug trafficking networks by targeting their financial infrastructure.
Srinagar Police reaffirmed its commitment to a drug-free society and urged the public to report any drug-related activity through the helpline 9596770550.(DD)
