Srinagar Police Intensifies Crackdown on Terrorist Associates Under UAPA Investigations

Srinagar,(DD)In its determined pursuit to dismantle the terrorist ecosystem in the Kashmir Valley, Srinagar Police has intensified operations against associates of proscribed terrorist outfits. As part of an ongoing investigation into multiple cases registered under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), the police have conducted widespread searches across the district.

Over the last two months, residences of more than 200 terrorist associates have been searched. The latest operation saw coordinated searches at 32 additional locations linked to individuals involved in serious offences including terrorism, illegal arms possession, and organized disruption.

Search Procedure & Objective:

The operations were conducted lawfully, in the presence of Executive Magistrates and independent witnesses, under the supervision of senior officers of J&K Police.

The objective of the searches was to recover arms, digital devices, documents, and other evidence related to terror funding and planning. The collected materials will support ongoing intelligence gathering and legal action.

A senior police official said, “These decisive operations are aimed at uprooting the terror support structure within urban areas. Individuals engaged in furthering anti-national agendas or facilitating terrorism will be dealt with strictly as per law.”

Srinagar Police reiterated its unwavering commitment to maintaining peace and security in the region and warned that any involvement in disruptive or unlawful activities will attract strict legal consequences under UAPA and related acts(DD).
