Srinagar, (DD): In a significant operation targeting alleged terror associates, Srinagar Police today carried out searches at multiple locations across the city in connection with cases under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).
According to an official police statement, searches were conducted at the residences of individuals allegedly involved in various terror-linked activities.
The locations raided included the homes of Aadil Nazir Janada of Gousia Colony Babademb; Faizyab Showkat Dewani of Pather Masjid; Momin Ahmad Sheikh of Aali Kadal; Fayaz Ahmad Kullo of Rasmpora Chattabal; Mushtaq Ahmad Zargar alias Latrum of Gani Mohallah Jamia Masjid; Showkat Ahmad Khandwa of Malpora Jamia Masjid; Mohd Bariq Magray of Kolipora Khanyar; Mohd Rafiq Shah of Hazari Bazar; Yasir Hayat Ahanger of Hazari Bazar; Sheikh Faisal Rashid of Firdous Colony, Syedpora; Moomin Javid Gojri of Shalimar Colony, Syedpora; Suhaib Bin Shafi of Gretabal Kawadara; Parvaiz Ahmad Shah of Naidyar Bala; Imtiyaz Ahmad Khanday of Hamdaniya Colony, Bemina; Fayaz Ahmad Sheikh of Urdu Bazar; Wahid Abass of Kadikadal; Shahid Ahmad Lone of Chanpora Jamia Masjid; Imtiyaz Ahmad Chikla of Asaar Colony; Gulzar Ahmad Malla of Tiploo Mohalla; Nazir Ahmad Kandhoo alias Lara of Anchar Soura; and Shabir Ahmad Gojri, son of Abdul Salam.
The searches were conducted lawfully, in the presence of Executive Magistrates and independent witnesses, under the supervision of senior officers.
Authorities stated that the objective was to seize arms, documents, and digital devices as part of efforts to gather evidence and intelligence. This move is aimed at detecting and preventing any conspiracies or terrorist activities threatening national security.
The police reiterated their commitment to dismantling terror networks and taking firm legal action against those involved in anti-national or criminal activities. Srinagar Police affirmed that individuals promoting violence or unlawful actions will face strict consequences as per the law (DD)
