Srinagar records coldest night, temperature drops in Jammu as well

Jammu:DD, Srinagar has recorded the coldest night of this winter i.e., – 3.2 degree Celsius whereas Jammu witnessed 10.0 degree Celsius temperature, bringing down the mercury.
As the summer as well as winter capitals of Jammu and Kashmir recorded a decline in temperature, Srinagar recorded the temperature in minus 3.2 degree Celsius on the night of Sunday, according to the records of the meteorological department.
Meanwhile, the temperature in Jammu plain, and hilly areas also witnessed a drop in temperature.
As per the figures shared by the meteorological department, Jammu City has recorded approximately 10.0 degree Celsius temperature and the temperature in Katra was 9.2 degree celsius.
Beides, Banihal, Bhaderwah, Kishtwar and Rajouri witnessed coldest nights in Jammu region. The temperature dropped in higher reaches in Banihal where the minimum temperature was -1.2 degree Celsius, Rajouri recorded 3.3 degree celsius and Bhaderwah recorded 0.5 degree celsius low temperature.


LADAKH
The metrological officials stated that the higher reaches i.e, Zojila witnessed bone chilling cold i.e., -16.0°C whereas the temperature was -8.2 degree Celsius in Leh, and -8.6 degree celcius in Kargil.
Drass, the lowest temperature was -10.3 degree Celsius, Nyoma recorded -11.8 degree Celsius, Nubra recorded -6.6 degree Celsius and Padum recorded -9.3 degree Celsius temperature.DD
