Srinagar Sizzles at 32.2°C, Hottest Day of the Season

Thundershowers Likely to Bring Respite

Diplomat Correspondent

Srinagar, (DD): The summer heat intensified in Kashmir today as Srinagar recorded a maximum temperature of 32.2°C, marking the hottest day of the season so far. The unusually high temperature has raised concerns among residents and health officials, especially amid ongoing dry weather conditions across the Valley.

According to data provided by Kashmir Weather, the temperature in the city soared well above the average for this time of year, making it one of the most uncomfortable days in recent weeks.

However, temporary relief may be on the horizon. Weather experts have predicted thundershowers in some parts of the Valley tonight and tomorrow, which could help bring temperatures down and provide much-needed cooling.

Residents are advised to stay hydrated, avoid direct sunlight during peak hours, and take necessary precautions, especially the elderly and children. Authorities are also on alert for potential weather-related incidents such as localised flooding or tree falls due to wind gusts that may accompany the showers(DD)
