Kishtwar, TDD,The Senior Superintendent of Police, Kishtwar, Sh. Javaid Iqbal Mir-JKPS, held an introductory meeting today with respectable persons and stakeholders from the transport unions of Kishtwar district at the District Police Office (DPO) Kishtwar. The meeting aimed to strengthen coordination and address issues related to public welfare and transportation in the district.
The interaction focused on various key concerns, including the regulation of transport services, traffic management, public safety, and the challenges faced by transport operators in their daily operations. Stakeholders also shared their perspectives on enhancing the efficiency of transportation systems while ensuring adherence to legal and safety norms.
During the meeting, SSP Kishtwar also addressed issues concerning the menace of reckless bike stunts by “road Romeos,” the increasing prevalence of drugs, the illegal sale of liquor in shops, and persistent traffic jamming in the town. He expressed serious concern over these activities, emphasizing their impact on public safety and convenience. He assured strict action against individuals involved and urged stakeholders to collaborate with the police in resolving these issues effectively.
Addressing the gathering, SSP Kishtwar assured the participants that their concerns would be addressed on priority. He highlighted the pivotal role played by transport unions in maintaining order on the roads and serving the community. He urged them to collaborate with the police in ensuring compliance with traffic rules, preventing overloading, and promoting road safety.
