Holds PCPG Meeting, Sensitizes Public on New Criminal Laws

Kishtwar, DD, In a significant outreach initiative, SSP Kishtwar, Javaid Iqbal Mir accompanied by SDPO Marwah, Vijay Kumar Bhagat, visited Police Station Marwah, where they were warmly received by SHO, Insp. Nazir Ahmed.
During the visit, a Police-Community Partnership Group (PCPG) Meeting was held to address public grievances and strengthen police-public relations. Residents raised crucial demands related to mobile connectivity, road infrastructure, and essential commodities, particularly concerning the ongoing holy month of Ramzan. SSP Kishtwar assured the community that their concerns would be taken up with the appropriate authorities for timely redressal.
As part of the awareness drive, SSP Kishtwar sensitized the public about the new criminal laws, including the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA), 2023. These laws aim to modernize and strengthen the criminal justice system. The officers also highlighted digital initiatives such as eSakshya, eSummons, and MedLeaPR, which enhance transparency and efficiency in law enforcement.
Additionally, SSP Kishtwar inspected the newly constructed SDPO office at Marwah, a significant step toward improving police infrastructure in remote areas. This facility is expected to boost administrative efficiency and policing capabilities, ensuring better service delivery to the people of Marwah.
