IMRAN SHAH

Kishtwar, DD: In a significant relief for students, the Assistant Regional Transport Office (ARTO) KishtwarTasleem wani has issued a public notice reiterating that students are entitled to a 50% concession on passenger fares while commuting to and from their educational institutions.

As per Notification No: 01-P-MVD of 2021, dated 19-03-2021, issued by the Transport Commissioner (Chairman, State Transport Authority) J&K, both the J&K State Road Transport Corporation (JKSRTC) and private transport operators are mandated to charge only half the fare from students.

To avail of this benefit, students must carry a bona fide and valid identity card from their institution. The ARTO Kishtwar has urged students to report any violations of this directive.
