Says NC Govt committed for welfare of farming community

Udhampur, DD: In a significant move to strengthen the voice of farmers and address their concerns, Sunil Verma, District President of Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) Udhampur, today reconstituted the JKNC Kissan Cell in Udhampur. The cell aims to work closely with the farming community, ensuring that government schemes and policies for their welfare reach the grassroots level effectively.
The formation of the JKNC Kissan Cell took place in the presence of senior party leaders, including District Vice President Javed Iqbal, Adv. KD Sharma, Amarnath (Retd. Principal), Om Prakash (City President), Akash Verma (District President YNC Udhampur), Mehboob Iqbal, and Attar Chand (Retd. SDM). The leadership expressed confidence that the newly formed body would serve as a bridge between the farmers and the government, working towards their empowerment and prosperity.
Mehboob Khan Qazi (Retd Tehsildar), has been appointed as the District President of JKNC Kissan Cell, with Haleem Khan as Senior Vice President and Tirath Singh as Vice President. Romesh Chander Sharma will serve as District Secretary, while Mohd. Kavir has been given the responsibility of Additional District Secretary. Nazar Hussain Rahella has been assigned the role of Joint Secretary, Jeet Singh (Nyb Sarpanch) as Chief Organizer, and Leason Din (Gordi) as Organizer. The financial matters of the cell will be managed by Cashier Shakil Khokhar, while Sunil Kumar SC will oversee media outreach as Press and Publicity Secretary. Satish Rana has also been appointed as Joint Secretary, with Parvez Sebal as an Organizer. Several other members have been inducted into the District Working Committee, including Abdul Quime, Baldev Chand, Jagdish Kumar, Mohd. Rashid (Nyb Sarpanch), Ch. Shokat Ali, Gian Chand (Nagolta), and Arif (Tent House, Nyb Sarpanch, Nagolta).
Speaking on the occasion, Sunil Verma emphasized that the present NC government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, is deeply committed to the upliftment of farmers. He highlighted that the government has introduced several welfare schemes, financial assistance programs, and modern agricultural techniques to help farmers improve their productivity and economic stability. He urged party workers to actively engage with the farming community and spread awareness about these initiatives so that they can avail the benefits.
He further stated that the newly formed JKNC Kissan Cell would play a pivotal role in addressing the challenges faced by farmers, including issues related to irrigation, subsidies, market access, and agricultural reforms. He assured the gathering that the party is determined to protect the rights of farmers and work towards their betterment.
The event concluded with a strong commitment from all members to work tirelessly in ensuring that the concerns of farmers are heard and addressed at the highest levels of governance.
