Stockholm (DD): The Government has decided to re-establish Sweden’s Embassy in Lima, Peru.
The aim of the re-establishment is to strengthen bilateral relations with Peru, enhance trade and investment promotion and support Swedish businesses present in Peru.
“Relations between our countries have strengthened and intensified in recent years. We have considerable strategic interests in Peru. Many Swedish companies operate in the country and their presence needs to be supported,” says Minister for Foreign Affairs Maria Malmer Stenergard.
The Swedish Foreign Service’s objective is for Sweden to have the best possible conditions to implement its foreign policy and promote Swedish interests abroad within the framework of available resources.
The Embassy is expected to be operational in late 2026. (Press Release, Swedish Govt)
