Tarun Chugh lauds PM Modi’s Speech on Constitution’s 75th Anniversary, Slams Congress for Historical Blunders

The Diplomat Desk

Jammu :TDD,BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh today lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s powerful speech in Parliament on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of India’s Constitution. He also criticized the historical blunders committed by the Congress party, which, he said, undermined the sanctity and spirit of the Constitution.

In his statement, Tarun Chugh emphasized the significant milestones highlighted by PM Modi in his address, focusing on the importance of safeguarding the Constitution and how it has been shaped by the leadership of various governments over the years. He particularly praised the Prime Minister’s strong stance on the damage caused by Congress in the past, especially during the imposition of the Emergency in 1975, when constitutional provisions were suspended, citizens’ rights were curtailed, and press freedom was suppressed.

“While we celebrate 75 years of our Constitution, it is important to remember that Congress’ repeated assaults on it have left indelible scars on India’s democratic journey. From the imposition of Emergency to the consistent efforts to erode the Constitution’s sanctity, Congress’ history is a tale of disregard for the democratic ideals enshrined in our founding document,” said Tarun Chugh.

He further criticized Congress for its continuous attempts to undermine the Constitution, especially under the leadership of the Nehru-Gandhi family, whose policies and decisions, he claimed, inflicted long-lasting harm on the spirit of constitutional governance. “For over five decades, one family ruled this country and altered the Constitution at will. From bending constitutional provisions to suit political ends to curbing judicial independence, Congress has repeatedly shown its contempt for our democratic foundations,” Tarun Chugh added.

Tarun Chugh also praised the efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government for its policies and welfare schemes over the past decade. He lauded the Prime Minister’s role in reinforcing the unity of India through the abrogation of Article 370, ensuring that Jammu and Kashmir is fully integrated into the Indian Union in line with the Constitution’s spirit of unity and diversity.

Tarun Chugh remarked, “PM Modi has consistently worked towards strengthening national unity and promoting the diversity that is India’s strength. The abrogation of Article 370 was a historic step in fulfilling the Constitution’s vision of a united India.”TDD
