He was travelling towards Srinagar with weapons from Jammu

Jammu: DD, Police Wednesday claimed to have arrested a terror associate who was trying to escape from Jammu towards Srinagar via Jammu-Srinagar highway.
Police said that he was apprehended during a naka checking at the bye-pass area in Nagrota.
“A Toyota Etios registration number HR38Z/2066 was intercepted for checking, during which, the police team recovered three pistols, three empty magazines, eight live cartridges and two empty cartridges from a handbag concealed under the co-driver’s seat,” the police quoting the investigation revealed.
On questioning, police said that the accused failed to produce any valid documents or licenses for the recovered arms and ammunition.
Police said that he was immediately taken into custody. His identity has been established as Azan Hameed Gazi, son of Abdul Hameed Gazi, resident of Hilalabad, Qamarwari in Srinagar.
Accordingly, the police have registered a case under FIR No 170 of 2025, Section 3/25 of the Arms Act at Police Station Nagrota.
Further investigation is underway to trace the origin and intended use of the weapons.DD
