Terror Funding Case: Police Attach Property Worth Rs 1.5 Crore in Srinagar

Srinagar, (DD): Srinagar Police have attached a residential property worth Rs 1.5 crore in connection with a terror funding case under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).

The property, measuring eight marlas and 202 square feet, including a built-up structure, is located in Mir Masjid Mohalla, Shallabagh Khanyar. It is registered in the name of Mohammad Yousuf Shah, son of Hafiz Waliuallah Shah, and is presently in the possession of Masood Hussain Shah, son of Mohammad Yousuf Shah.

The attachment was carried out under the provisions of FIR No. 48/2024, registered at Police Station Khanyar, under Section 109 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), Sections 7/27 of the Indian Arms Act, and Sections 16, 18, 19, 20, and 39 of the UAPA.

Investigations revealed that the property had been acquired through proceeds generated from unlawful activities linked to terrorism. “Acting under Section 25 of the UAPA, the immovable asset has been formally seized and attached following due legal procedure,” police said.

The attachment notice also prohibits the owner from selling, leasing, or transferring the property in any manner.(DD)
