Terror Group Trapped Again in Kishtwar’s Higher Reaches

Kishtwar, J&K (India): The Indian Army has trapped a group of terrorists in the upper reaches of Kishtwar district in Jammu and Kashmir, as the Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) has been intensified across the snow-capped mountains and difficult terrain.

As security forces proceeded jointly and contact with the terrorist group was reportedly re-established, the Northern Command Chief of the Indian Army, Lt General Pratik Sharma, arrived in Kishtwar and met ground commanders and troops involved in the operation.

“The Army Commander, while interacting with the ground commanders and the ever-committed troops, commended them for their unwavering resolve in the ongoing efforts,” a defence spokesperson said.

The White Knight Corps on X handle informed that, “During the ongoing joint operation TRASHI-I, contact with terrorists was re-established in the early hours of 31 January 2023 in the general area of Dolgam by troops of the White Knight Corps, J&K Police, and CRPF.”

It further stated that intelligence from all sources had been coordinated to provide inputs for executing the operation on the ground. A cordon has been established, and operations are in progress.

At the time of filing this report, security forces, particularly the Indian Army’s commandos, had cordoned off the targeted forest belt, and the operation was continuing.

Two days ago, the Home Department of the Jammu and Kashmir Government temporarily suspended mobile internet services in Singhpora, Chingam, and Chatroo to prevent misuse by anti-national elements in Kishtwar District.DD
