Handwara,(DD) Security forces have killed an unidentified terrorist in an ongoing encounter in the Krumboora forest area of Zachaldara, Rajwar, in Handwara, North Kashmir’e Kupwara district.
Acting on intelligence inputs, a joint team of the Army, Police, and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation early Monday morning. As the forces closed in on the suspected hideout, militants opened fire, triggering a fierce gunfight.
“In the ensuing exchange of fire, one terrorist has been neutralized,” an official confirmed, adding that the operation is still in progress as forces search for any remaining militants.
The encounter is part of ongoing counter-terror operations in North Kashmir, where security forces have intensified efforts to curb militant activity. Further updates are awaited.(DD)
