Udhampur,(DD): A terrorist has been killed in the ongoing anti-militancy operation in the Basantgarh area of Udhampur district, the Indian Army confirmed today.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the Army’s White Knight Corps said that a joint operation by the Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police is in progress, and one terrorist has been neutralized so far.
“Op BIHALI Update: In the ongoing joint operation by #IndianArmy & @JmuKmrPolice in #Basantgarh, one #terrorist has been neutralized till now. Operation continues,” the post stated.
Earlier, security forces had launched a search operation in the dense forests of Basantgarh following specific intelligence inputs about terrorist movement. Contact was established with the terrorists early Thursday morning.
Officials believe more terrorists may still be hiding in the area, and the operation remains active. Further details are awaited as the search intensifies.(DD)
