Srinagar:DD, A terrorist was gunned down, and a Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO) among three soldiers sustained bullet injuries in an encounter that broke out at Gudder forest area in Kulgam District of Jammu and Kashmir.
Acting on the credible inputs about the presence of the terrorists, the Indian Army laid a search operation and accordingly cordoned off the forest area of Gudder.
During the searches, the terrorists opened indiscriminate fire, triggering an encounter. In heavy exchange of fire, the Army gunned down a terrorist, whose identity could not be established whereas three soldiers including JCO sustained bullet injuries.
The injured were evacuated, and the operation is still underway to neutralise the rest of the terrorists, if any. Further details are awaited.(Agencies)
