Search operation underway: Army

Srinagar, Nov 02 (TDD): terrorists today opened fire at the army patrol in the forest area of Panar in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district. However, no damage was reported in the firing incident.
Official sources said that the incident happened late last night when alert soldiers observed suspicious movement in the forest area of Panar. “The troops challenged the suspects who fled towards the forest area before opening indiscriminate firing,” they said.
Army’s Chinar Corps wrote on X that “On 01 Nov 2024 late evening, suspicious movement was spotted, in the general area Panar of Bandipora, by alert troops. On being challenged, terrorists opened indiscriminate fire and escaped into the jungle.”
Sources said a massive coming operation has been launched in the forest area of Panar with more reinforcements pushed in. “Police and CRPF parties are also assisting the army in conducting the operation.
The Army has advised residents of nearby villages to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the security forces– (TDD)
