Says National Flag Symbolises Unity and Pride; Salutes Forces for Operation Sindoor and Operation Mahadev

Srinagar,(DD): Thousands turned out at Dal Lake on Tuesday to take part in the Tiranga Yatra, flagged off by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, who described the Tricolour as his “strength and heartbeat” while paying tribute to the sacrifices of soldiers and martyrs.

The rally saw the participation of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, cabinet ministers, senior officials, police and civil administration personnel, students, and citizens from across Jammu and Kashmir. Participants walked shoulder to shoulder, waving the national flag in a powerful display of unity and patriotism.

Addressing the gathering, Sinha called the Tiranga the emblem of “our unity, pride, and shared identity,” saluting the courage of forefathers and bravehearts “who laid down their lives to keep the Tricolour flying high in its full glory.”

He lauded the soldiers of Operation Sindoor and Operation Mahadev, alongside the armed forces and J&K Police, for “avenging the Pahalgam terror attack and safeguarding the nation’s honour.”

“Today is a day to celebrate our nation’s success, but also to reflect on our duties and build upon our achievements,” Sinha said, stressing that the foundation of a modern and prosperous Jammu & Kashmir rests on the sacrifices of the Army, Central Armed Police Forces, and Police personnel.

“Tiranga is my Dharma. Tiranga is my strength. Tiranga is my heartbeat,” he declared. “For the sake of duty, may we be born again and again on this holy land.” He concluded with a resounding: “Victory to Mother India.(DD)
