Pulwama, May 15(DD): Three terrorists affiliated with the Jaish-e-Muhammad (JeM) outfit were killed in an encounter with security forces in the Naddar area of Tral in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district today.A senior police officer confirmed the development, stating, “Three terrorists have been neutralized in the operation. Their identities are being verified, but preliminary inputs suggest they are linked to Jaish-e-Mohammad.”Today’s encounter comes just a day after another anti-militancy operation in Shopian, where three Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) terrorists were gunned down.
Security agencies are now investigating whether the slain JeM terrorists were involved in the recent Pahalgam attack that claimed the lives of 26 tourists. “It is being ascertained whether the trio were behind the Pahalgam incident. We are closely examining evidence recovered from the encounter site,” the officer added. The operation is now in its final stages. Security forces have launched a thorough search in the area to rule out the presence of any more terrorists(DD)
