Jammu: DD, Tiger Division, in close coordination with the Forest Department and Municipal Corporation, Jammu, organized a tree plantation drive. The event was graced by GOC Tiger Division, along with other military officers, the State Chief Electoral Officer Shri Sanjeev Verma, IAS, and Commissioner, JMC Shri Devansh Yadav, IAS, along with other senior civil officials, officers and Jawans.
During the plantation drive, GOC Tiger Division highlighted that service to the Nation includes safeguarding the environment along with guarding the borders.
He emphasized that each sapling planted is a pledge for life, a gift of hope, and an investment in a greener tomorrow. The initiative with the Forest Department was appreciated as a model of cooperation between civil authorities, armed forces, and citizens.
The GOC further underlined that just as democracy thrives on responsibility and care, so too does nature, urging all participants to carry forward this spirit into their communities. This drive is also an important step towards initiative of “हर पेड़ माँ के नाम”.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation by officers, jawans and civil dignitaries, reaffirming the collective commitment towards building a cleaner, healthier and greener environment.DD
